The Focus of Our Efforts
Diversity Curriculum
Our diversity curriculum consists of a read-aloud about a different culture; currently, we are using "Eyes that Kiss in the Corners" by Joanna Ho. Afterward, we give an interactive presentation about that culture and discuss what we've learned with the kids. We finish off with a fun craft! From this experience, kids can learn about the differences in other cultures and how to respect and appreciate them.
Building Libraries
The New Page Project donates thousands of books to US and international schools. Many of these schools are in low-income areas and have few books - if any - for kids to choose from. These books are usually elementary and middle school level, and we get them all from local libraries. The New Page Project hopes to promote education and equity by doing this.
